1(780) 790-0088Snoring is more common in men than women, occurring when the flow of air from your mouth or nose to your lungs makes tissues in your throat vibrate while asleep. This issue is caused when the muscles at the back roof of your mouth, throat and tongue are too relaxed. This problem is sometimes related to sleep apnea but to better understand and assess the situation, check to see if you have all or several of the following symptoms.
● Irritability
● Depression
● Pauses taking place when you are snoring
● Personality changes or mood swings
● The need to wake up frequently to urinate
● Sore throat or dry mouth when you wake up
● Breathing cessation episodes
● Attention problems
● Difficulty staying asleep
● Choking or gasping following pauses
● Fighting sleepiness at work, while driving or during the entirety of your day
● Quickly falling asleep when inactive
● Morning headaches
● Tossing and turning in your sleep
● Decreased libido
