Porcelain Veneers

Fort McMurray Family Dentists

Porcelain veneers are also known as dental porcelain laminates.Your dentist may recommend these laminates to eliminate tooth defects, hide crevices between your teeth and correct the shape of your mouth.

What is a porcelain veneer? A porcelain face placed on the front portion of your tooth. Veneers mimic the translucent properties of your normal tooth enamel so that you have a natural looking smile. To ensure we give you the most organic look, we match the colour of your veneers to the shade of your adjacent teeth.

No one will know the difference between your regular teeth and veneers.

Our veneers give you an aesthetically beautiful smile that continues on for years. There are two types of veneers and we can provide you either but will determine which is the best option for you.

The two forms of veneers are composite resin and ceramic (better known as porcelain). Composite resin veneers set fast and we can complete them in one appointment as opposed to porcelain veneers that take two appointment for process completion. Composite resin can last 1-3 years but you need to take care of them. Be careful with what you eat and drink as composite resin is a slightly porous material causing it to stain easily. We suggest you stay away from soy sauce and teas that are likely to intensely stain your sparkling white veneers.

Porcelain veneers are extremely durable and can withstand cracking and chipping, lasting decades if you give them care like you would your real teeth.

We have provided you with a list below of signs that make you the ideal candidate for dental laminates.

Signs For A Good Veneer Candidate
